Elon Musk’s political action committee (PAC), America PAC, is making headlines by offering Wisconsin voters $100 to sign a petition against “activist judges.” The petition is being promoted both online and at in-person events ahead of the state’s April 1 Supreme Court election.
The petition argues that judges should follow the law as written, rather than imposing their personal or political beliefs. The language closely resembles recent criticisms from Musk and Donald Trump against judges who have ruled against Trump’s administration.
While the petition itself does not endorse a specific candidate, it allows Musk’s team to collect voter data that could be used in future political efforts.
Musk has used cash incentives in previous elections to influence voter engagement. Last year, his PAC ran a $1 million sweepstakes for swing-state voters who signed a petition supporting gun rights, a move widely seen as an effort to boost Trump’s reelection chances.
With the Wisconsin Supreme Court election just weeks away, Musk’s latest political move is already sparking debates over money in politics. Whether this cash giveaway will impact voter turnout, or face legal challenges, remains to be seen.
