Elton Brand’s Wife Files For Divorce

Shahara Simmons, the wife of NBA free agent Elton Brand, filed for a divorce from her husband, shortly before the couple were to celebrate their 9th anniversary.  According to Shahara’s docs, the separation has been (at least) months in the making, with she and Elton hashing out the separation of assets back in April. The only thing left is to work out the custody agreement & child support for their two children. 

Details of what caused the split have yet to be revealed. Shahara Simmons and Elton Brand met and began dating when they both attended Duke University. They were married in the summer of 2006.
