Eric Trump Teases White House Run: Calls It an “Easy” Path After Dad’s Second Term

Eric Trump isn’t ruling out following in his father’s presidential footsteps—and he’s got confidence to match. In a new interview with the Financial Times, the Trump Organization executive says running for president would be an “easy” move if he chose to do it.

At 41, Eric has kept a lower political profile than siblings Ivanka and Don Jr., focusing instead on the family business. But he says he’s been watching the political scene closely—and he’s not impressed.

“I could do it,” he said. “And I think other members of our family could do it too.”

But the road back to the White House may come with a personal cost that Eric’s still not sure he’s willing to pay. He pointed to the past decade of intense public scrutiny and legal chaos that’s taken a toll on the Trump clan.

“Do you want to subject your loved ones to the brutality of this system?” he asked. “I’m not sure I can answer that yet.”

While top Republican names like JD Vance and Marco Rubio are already in the mix for future presidential runs, Eric hinted the Trump name may not be leaving the ballot anytime soon. “There’s more people than just me,” he said.

Eric also addressed long-running accusations that his family profited off Donald Trump’s presidency. He pushed back hard, claiming the Trump name took a major financial hit because of politics. Between investigations, lawsuits, and “Russia hoaxes,” Eric estimates the family spent nearly $500 million defending itself.

“If there’s one family that hasn’t profited off politics, it’s the Trump family,” he said, claiming they would’ve made far more money had his father never run for office.

So is Eric really planning a run? For now, it seems he’s keeping that card close to his chest.
