The NFL has suspended Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott for six games after violating the league’s personal conduct policy, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport revealed.
After a year-long investigation into Elliott’s offseason behavior, which included domestic violence accusations, the league has decided to move forward with his suspension. However, since the 22-year-old has denied the allegations and no charges have been filed, Elliott has the right to appeal the decision. But, if the six-game suspension holds, he will return to the field in October for the team’s division game against the Washington Redskins.
The forthcoming season is Elliott’s second with the Cowboys after rushing for 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns last season.
