Throughout the years, we’ve seen the world of comedy experience heated debates filled with strong personalities and opinions. But, comedian and actor Faizon Love believes comedians should stray away from conflict and turn their focus on unity.
During a recent episode of ‘We Playin’ Spades’ podcast, Love joined the cast to share his thoughts on the feud public he had with Katt Williams earlier this year.
If you’re unaware, the rift between the two comedians came following Williams’ appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast and gave a harsh critique about Love. At the time, Williams labeled Love a “fat Faizon liar” and disregarded the opinions he had on the comedy industry. The feud resurfaced last month when Williams made a joke about naming his pig after Love while attending a GQ Men of the Year event.
While speaking on the situation, Love seemed to have an unexpected reaction but urged comedians to stray away from engaging in petty disagreements and feuds.
“None of us should be beefing,” Love began. “He loves me. He thinks about me all the time. These other comedians, the white ones, they don’t beef with each other.”
Additionally, although Love made it clear that he wasn’t bothered by Williams’ comments regarding his weight, he did have an issue with being described as a “liar.”
“The fat part? Whatever,” he added. “But being called a liar? That’s something else entirely.”
Their feud traces back to Love criticizing Williams’ Netflix comedy special, claiming that it was “easy.” As a result, Williams denied the allegation during his appearance on ‘Club Shay Shay.’
“I only put on comedians that are funnier than me. Anybody tell you different is a fat Faizon liar,” Williams said at the time. “Faizon said that getting a Netflix special is easy. I have 12 specials. Guess how many Faizon got? Zero. Why is he allowed to have conversations about real stand-up people?”
