FIFA World Cup 2022 and Lay’s are teaming up for one-of-a-kind flavors to kick off the international soccer tournament.
The three savory flavors capture the essence of Latin American culture and food. The spices included in the new Lay’s lime flavors are commonly seen in Latin dishes. The first in the lineup is the Lay’s Adobadas. Adobada is a preparation method for many dishes common in Mexico. Lay’s version is a crunchy blend of chili, tomato, and lime. Next is the Lay’s Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Popper, an ode to Latin barbeque, bringing together the spicy pepper and smoky BBQ. Lastly, the Lay’s Wavy Carnitas Street Tacos is sure to be the fan favorite, offering the rich taste of taco-style pork carnitas, a Mexican street dish that has become wildly popular in the U.S.
In addition to developing new tastes, Lay’s has designed a new FIFA World Cup 2022-themed bag that features the brand logo floating about a soccer ball headed into a net. An image of the golden World Cup trophy also graces the potato chip bags that read “Official U.S.A. Snack of the FIFA World Cup 2022.”
Tina Mahal, Frito-Lay North America’s senior vice president of marketing, says the company wanted Lay’s lovers to have “new ways to heighten their FIFA World Cup experience.”
These exclusive snacks are available in stores now ahead of the highly anticipated soccer games, which will kick off on November 21st and conclude on December 18th.
