The LSU basketball standout spoke about the role Boosie played in her life after the murder of her father, rapper Camoflauge, in 2003.
Although she was just an infant when her father was killed in Savannah, Georgia, Johnson said Boosie’s presence helped fill that void. Her father and Boosie had been close friends, and over the years, that relationship carried over into his bond with her.
While speaking to Sharpe, Johnson described Boosie as someone who showed her real care and generosity.
“He’s got a heart of gold. He’ll give you the shirt off his back,” she said. “He showed me love and took care of me like I was his child while I was in his presence. He’ll always have my respect.”
She recalled moments when Boosie stepped in to provide support that her mother couldn’t.
“If I ever needed anything big and my momma said she couldn’t do it, Boosie would come through,” she explained. “It was just crazy to me because I never had a father figure.”
Johnson was also honest about his public behavior. She made it clear that while she doesn’t agree with everything he says or does, that doesn’t change how she feels about him.
Boosie’s connection to her family began through his friendship with her late father, but his role in Johnson’s life eventually became much more personal. For Johnson, the respect and loyalty run deep, grounded in the impact Boosie made when she needed it most.
Although many fans are questioning his relationship with his biological daughters, it’s clear that Boosie loves the kids.
