A Florida father was arrested over the weekend for shaking his infant daughter because she wouldn’t stop crying. The infant later died at a hospital from her injuries.
Hector J. Solis, 29, was charged with first-degree premeditated murder aggravated child abuse as assault. Solis made his first court appearance on Monday, where a judge denied him bond.
On Saturday, Solis brought his daughter to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office in City Hall and told officers the baby wasn’t breathing. First responders began life-saving measures on the infant and transported her to the hospital.
According to the criminal complaint, Solis told police the baby had been “crying for the longest time.” “I just got frustrated and started shaking her,” he told officers, who recorded the conversation on body cameras.
The Palm Bay father said he shook his daughter at a different location and then brought the child to city hall. The address where the taking took place was redacted, according to WKMG.
Solis’ daughter succumbed to her injuries early Sunday morning.
