On Friday, surveillance footage of a brutal beatdown involving NBA player Tyler Ulis in an apartment elevator in 2017, surfaced, showing the former Phoenix Suns player getting jumped before his friend, Devin Booker, came to the rescue.
In the footage obtained by TMZ, which occurred on May 26 in Tempe, AZ, Ulis was trying to hold the elevator for his friend when a group of men tried to get on. When the then-Suns baller denied their entry, the men attacked him.
Shortly after, Ulis and his friends, including Booker, took the same elevator to return to the hallway, where the fight spilled into, and confronted the men that attacked the baller.
Another altercation ensued. However, Booker, who covered most of his face, did not appear to be involved, physically, besides chasing the assailants out of the building.
In the wake of the release of the video, a source from the basketball organization told TMZ that “while these guys know they are always potential targets for others trying to cause trouble, it’s hard to blame them for defending their friend who is on the bad end of a 4 on 1 attack.”
