G. Dep, the rapper formerly associated with Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, has been released after spending more than ten years in prison.

Known for hits like “Special Delivery,” the rapper, real name Trevell Coleman, was granted parole and walked out of the Fishkill Correctional Facility in New York Thursday.

In 2010, G. Dep entered New York’s 25th Precinct to confess to a crime dating back to 1993. He admitted to a botched robbery attempt that resulted in the shooting death of a man in Queens. This confession led to his conviction for second-degree murder in April 2012, and he was subsequently sentenced to 15 years in prison the following month.

In December, Coleman was among the inmates granted clemency as part of Governor Kathy Hochul’s annual clemency list. During his incarceration, he earned an associate’s degree in liberal arts and now plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business, according to AllHipHop.
