Former WBC Welterweight champion, Victor Ortiz, has been arrested and charged with three counts of felony sexual assault, including rape.
According to ABC, Ortiz turned himself in on Tuesday, just six months after the incident took place inside of a Oxnard, California home. The victim filed a police report on the same day, accusing the 31-year-old entertainer of sexual assault.
After a months-long investigation by Oxnard’s family protection unit, officials issued an arrest warrant for Ortiz, prompting his surrender. He was then booked at the East County Jail in Ventura County on charges of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation and forcible digital penetration, all of which are felonies.
Ortiz’s bail was set at $100,000.
As for the boxer’s bout on Sunday in Ontario, its likely the fight will be called off, according to TMZ.
