Last night, the Baltimore Ravens took on the New England Patriots at the Gillette Stadium. After the game, the team’s head coach John Harbaugh announced that former NFL tight-end Konrad Reuland had passed away due to a brain aneurysm at the age of 29.
“Just want to offer condolences to his family. We love Konrad Reuland,” Harbaugh said. “Every single guy in that locker room loves him who knows him.”
According to reports, Reuland underwent emergency surgery two weeks ago hoping to correct the issue regarding his brain aneurysm diagnosis. Unfortunately, he lost his battle on Monday.
The 6’5″, 254 lbs. former NFL baller signed with the Ravens’ practice squad in November of last year, bouncing between the active roster and the practice squad for a year before being released in May. Prior to his time in Baltimore, Reuland signed with the Indianapolis Colts in October of 2014. In 2012, he signed with the Jets, playing in all 16 games with three starts, reports state, until his season-ended in 2013 with a knee injury.
Throughout his NFL career, the beloved tight-end caught 12 passes for 90 yards.
