Rapper G Herbo recently opened up about the devastating loss of his father, which occurred just weeks ago.

The Chicago artist shared the news during a livestream with popular content creator Kai Cenat, during which he appeared alongside his son, Yosohn. When Cenat asked Herb to share motivational advice with their viewers, the rapper spoke from the heart:

“I always overcome adversity. You know what I’m saying? Trials, tribulations, it’s always triumph at the end. You got to get up every day, work hard to be better than you were yesterday. I just lost my pops. Two weeks ago, two and a half weeks ago, I still found a reason to get up and smile, to get up and work, to provide for my family, to be there for my children,” the “No Guts No Glory” star shared.

Herbo didn’t elaborate on the circumstances surrounding his father’s passing, but throughout his career, he has often expressed deep gratitude for his dad’s presence and influence. In a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute in 2020, Herb shared a touching video of his father playing with him as a baby.

Alongside the clip, he wrote, “I LOVE YOU POPS.. I DON’T KNOW WHAT A DAY OF LIFE LOOK LIKE WITHOUT YOU IN IT & THAT’S GANGSTA.”

During the livestream, Yosohn grew emotional as Herb spoke about his father’s passing. In a tender moment, Herb comforted his son, telling him, “He living through you, son.”
