Chicago rapper G Herbo made a virtual court appearance on Wednesday where he pleaded not guilty to federal fraud charges.
The 25-year-old rapper, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, and five members of his crew are accused of allegedly using stolen identities to make fraudulent charges. Some of the lavish purchases include flights on private jets, designer puppies, and luxury car rentals. It is believed that there are hundreds of victims.
If convicted, Herbo faces up to six years in prison. Right now, he is out on a $75,000 unsecured bond.
It was revealed during the court appearance that the rapper is expecting a child with fiancee Taina Williams. Williams is four months along. Herbo’s attorney asked that he be able to travel back and forth to New Jersey to see her.
It was also revealed that Herbo’s ex-girlfriend, Ariana Fletcher, is a witness in the case. The judge ordered Herbo not to speak to Fletcher about the case.
Prosecutors also identified one of the witnesses in the case as a woman with initials “A.F.” who shares a child with Wright from their previous relationship. Records show she is Ariana Fletcher, of Atlanta. Wright was ordered not to speak with her about the allegations.
