“Game Of Thrones” actor Kit Harington has checked into a wellness retreat to recover from “personal issues” following the finale of the hit HBO show.
Let’s be honest: we all went through an emotional rollercoaster throughout the entire last season of #GOT. But our sadness can’t possibly equate to the amount the cast of the show felt, portraying these impactful stories on screen. Harington’s response to the series ending compelled him to admit himself into a wellness center. “Kit has decided to utilize this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues,” a representative for the actor said in a statement to CNN. However, according to Page Six, the actor checked in a few weeks before the finale aired for “stress and alcohol use.”
Harington has played #JonSnow on the hit show for its entire eight seasons but has spoken out about struggling with fame, as well how emotional it was to make the decision to seek help after the series ended. Harington described his last day of shooting GOT to Esquire, saying, “My final day of shooting, I felt fine. . . I felt fine. . . I felt fine. . . Then I went to do my last shots and started hyperventilating a bit,” Harington admitted. “Then they called, ‘Wrap!’ And I just f—ing broke down. It was this onslaught of relief and grief about not being able to do this again.”
The 32-year-old was captured in a video responding to the news that his character would be the cause of #EmiliaClarke’s death. Clarke plays #DaenerysTargaryen on the show. The show’s final season was received with mixed reviews. The last episode set a record with 19.3 million views, the most series ever received.
