October 17th marks “Gucci Mane Day” in Atlanta, a day that highlights his impact through his 1017 record label.

In October 2023, the city officially honored with rapper and CEO with his own day. His nearly two-decade rap career has earned him a place among hip-hop’s elite alongside Atlanta peers like T.I. and Jeezy.  Since his 2005 breakout club banger “Icy,” featuring Jeezy, Gucci has released thousands of records thanks to his mixtape run.  He is also known for countless commercial hits.

Gucci’s 1017 record label, formerly known as 1017 Brick Squad, was originally founded in 2007.  The label initially gained attention for signing artists such as Waka Flocka Flame and OJ da Juiceman. His newer roster was introduced around 2020 and included Pooh Shiesty and the late Enchanting. Gucci released music alongside his artists, including his 2022 compilation “So Icy Gang: The ReUp,” which showcased signees Foogiano, the late Big Scarr, and more.

As Atlanta and fans worldwide celebrate Gucci on October 17, Gucci Mane’s legacy as a cultural icon and pioneer in the world of hip-hop is cemented. Here are just a few of our favorite 1017 tracks that remain on our playlists.

Enchanting & Gucci Mane – “No Luv” feat. Big Scarr & Key Glock
