Producer Hitmaka has a suggestion for women heading into 2025, urging a shift in their hair choices.
The music creator, known for crafting tracks for Nicki Minaj, G-Eazy, and others, took to his Instagram Story to declare: “Leave wigs in 2024,” accompanied by a set of praying hands. While it’s unclear what inspired his anti-wig stance, Hitmaka has faced criticism before for making controversial comments about women.
In December 2022, Asian Doll called him out after he suggested that female rappers were limited to performing “p***y rap.” She clapped back on Twitter, writing, “I feel like why do n***as always worried bout what female rappers rap about? N***as been rapping bout the same thing since rap was invented.. ladies rap for the ladies not for you n***as.”*
That same year, “Power” actress and 3LW singer Naturi Naughton also slammed Hitmaka for falsely claiming they had a sexual relationship. Following his recent comment, many women online once again voiced their frustration over what they see as his unwarranted opinions on women’s choices.
