The owner of Hype Hair Magazine, Lia Dias, got an amazing co-sign from Rihanna during her Fenty Hair event, which was well-deserved.
The CEO was seen with Rihanna, who praised her on the hair publication, which was first launched in 1992. After decades of success, the outlet changed hands a few times before being acquired by Dias in 2021. As one of the longest-running Black hair outlets, the magazine was a staple inside hair salons nationwide while highlighting innovators in the ever-evolving hair industry. The “Diamonds” singer clearly resonated with this, which she made known when she met Dias.
“Do you know what that is for us,” Rih was heard telling Dias during the meet-and-greet.
The magazine even teased a possible collab, captioning their IG Reel, “Tell us, do you want to see a Rihanna Cover?”
The outlet has highlighted Fenty’s founders’ glam on several occasions, so it was only fitting that Hype Hair be invited to the launch of Rih’s hair line launch. The magazine has evolved throughout the years, including launching its own hair supply stores, all of which reside in California. Their Inglewood, California location even offers a beauty suite for rent for independent beauty entrepreneurs to shoot content and even service clients.
As Hype Hair keeps up in the know about the latest and greatest in hair, let’s take a stroll down memory lane to many of its iconic pages over the years.
