Ice Spice isn’t here for rap beef. She’s here to compete, respectfully.
In a new cover story for Nylon, the Bronx-born star opened up about her journey in the industry, revealing that she doesn’t shy away from pressure. In fact, she welcomes it.
“Honestly, the pressure’s great,” she said. “I think the girls [in rap] also enjoy the friendly competition amongst each other. I feel like that’s what keeps the spark.”
That mindset was on display when she and Latto dropped “Gyatt,” a surprise collab that effectively ended their years-long feud.
When asked about teaming up with Latto at the 2025 VMAs, Ice told Entertainment Tonight, “Of course, you know? We’re just girls, we’re just such pretty girls.”
The pair put their difference aside to promote “Gyatt.” In addition to the VMAs, they also appeared on Kai Cenat’s livestream together, presenting a united front that has merged their fan bases online.
Looking ahead, Ice confirmed that fans will be getting new music before the year wraps. She recently teased a track called “Baddie Baddie” and promised more to come, though it’s unclear which other rap ladies she will collab with.
