Chicago Man Arrested The 4th Time For Impersonating An Officer

A man arrested three times for impersonating a Chicago police officer was arrested again for the same crime.

On Thursday, police said that Vincent Richardson was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony impersonation of an officer. On three different occasions, Jan 14, Jan 27, and Feb 3, he was accused of pretending to be a Chicago police sergeant. Authorities have not released details concerning Richardson’s recent actions.

On Friday, Richardson, who was wanted on a warrant, was expected to appear in Cook County Circuit Court.

At 14, Richardson was arrested in 2009 after pretending to be an officer so well that he was given a radio and went on patrol with a real officer.

In 2013, Richardson claimed to be a cop at the age of 19 and was arrested as he attempted to obtain police equipment. Then, in 2015 he was arrested at the age of 21 after police stopped his car while investigating a call of shots fired. At the time,  he was wearing a protective vest and had in his possession a police duty belt, a scanner, a BB gun, and a stun gun. He received 18-month sentences for each offense for impersonating an officer.
