“He’s 54. I believe he was diagnosed in his late 40s. But Irv doesn’t go to the doctor, so that’s why he was so late being diagnosed,” Lorenzo explained.
Doctors told Gotti he had Type I diabetes, but he refused to believe it. Their father, who lived to 86, was also diabetic.
“And when we talk about this topic, I watched him suffer the least three years of his life. So it’s about quality of life,” he added.
“We all have to go at one point in time we just really wanna go on our terms. And Irv, sadly enough, he did go on his terms. He just didn’t believe it and he was like, ‘I’m going to go the way I wanted.’ He ate a bunch of Chinese food while playing poker and had a massive hemorrhagic stroke, which is bleeding on the brain.”
Irv Gotti’s story shows why regular check-ups are a must, especially for men.
Ignoring health problems doesn’t make them go away, it makes them worse.
Catch issues early, take care of yourself, and live a better life.
