Rapper Jack Harlow will tackle the role of Billy Hoyle in the reboot of “White Men Can’t Jump.”
The Atlantic Records star will make his acting debut in the role played by Woody Harrelson in the original 1992 basketball comedy. The film also featured Wesley Snipes and followed the two street basketball players as they competed against each other before teaming up.
The new spin on the classic will see Calmatic in the director seat of the script written by Kenya Barris and Doug Hall. Barris will also be producing the flick through his Khalabo Ink Society imprint. Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil, and Noah Weinstein will serve as executive producers via their Mortal Media company.
The “Industry Baby” rapper landed the lead role after his first screen audition. He even recently showed off his own basketball skills during the NBA All-Star Weekend’s Celebrity Game. He landed a 4-point throw during the tournament, which will surely help him flawlessly adapt to his new acting career.
While talks of the remake began to float around in 2018, there is no official release day for the film as of yet.
