Jada Pinkett Smith is doubling down on claims that she didn’t cheat on Will Smith with August Alsina during their “entanglement.”
On her now-canceled “Red Table Talk,” show she admitted that at the time of the “entanglement,” she and Will had already been separated.
“I just need people to know, OK, I did not cheat on Will Smith. No matter how sad he looked at that table,” said on “TalkShopLive” around the 23:28 min mark.
“And when you read [my upcoming memoir], you will kind of get an understanding of why the ‘Red Table’ even happened in the first place.”
During that episode, Jada said that she and Will had mutually “decided we were going to separate for a period of time.”
However, in a recent interview with NBC News, she said that they had been separated for years when the August Alsina situation happened. Despite their past marital issues, she said they’re currently in a “really beautiful place” and said Will even assisted her in writing “Worthy.”
“I’m in a place of peace. I’m in a place of happiness. And in all honesty, I love where I am. As far as Will, my relationship with him, you know, we went through that long period of separation… in order for us to journey separately and do some journeying together,” she shared.
“It just seems as though we’ve come to a really, really beautiful place together, so I just, I’m happy. Yeah, that’s where I am. In this chapter of my life, I am finally happy.”
Jada further claimed they felt pressured to stay together due to public perception but realized it was unrealistic after therapy.
“There’s so much love, you know, between us. …Different things have transpired over the last two years, and Will and I have been doing a lot of healing together,” she shared.
“And, you know, we have made our way back to this interdependence, this beautiful, loving space between us, and we’re family, and we’re figuring it out, and it’s a beautiful figuring it out. Been beautiful. Got a lot of love.”
