Jamie Foxx isn’t taking his recent ordeal lightly! According to TMZ, the 57-year-old actor is reportedly pursuing legal action after being injured by a glass thrown during his birthday celebration just a few weeks ago.
If you missed it, the incident happened earlier this month at Mr. Chow restaurant in Beverly Hills. The evening was meant to celebrate Foxx’s birthday and was filled with close friends and family, including his daughters Corinne and Anelise Foxx, as well as his ex, Kristin Grannis. What started as a joyous occasion took a dark turn when an alleged altercation broke out between Foxx’s party and another group.
During the commotion, one individual reportedly threw a glass that struck Foxx in the mouth. Witnesses told the outlet that Foxx required stitches for his injuries. Beverly Hills police were called to the scene shortly after the incident, initially responding to a report of a possible assault with a deadly weapon. However, officers determined that no such assault occurred.
“The incident involved a physical altercation between parties,” the Beverly Hills Police Department stated in a news release. “The BHPD conducted a preliminary investigation and documented the battery in a report. No arrests were made.”
Despite the chaos, Foxx addressed the situation on Instagram with a reflective post. He wrote:
“The devil is busy… but I’m too blessed to be stressed. The devil is a lie. Can’t win here… Thank you to everybody that prayed and checked on me… When your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness… but they don’t know that you’re built for it.”
