Janet Jackson is responding to fans who claimed she shaded one of Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 album covers.
Nicki first shared the cover art for her album on Monday, which featured the rapper in a white coat standing in an MTA train hovering above New York City.
That Tuesday, Jackson, 57, shared a throwback photo of herself wearing a white coat and a GIF of actress Marsai Martin wearing sunglasses. While many viewed it as harmless, some Barbz saw it as shade, leading to a wave of negative comments being left under Jackson’s post.

It didn’t take long for Jackson’s fans, the #janfam, to come to the singer’s defense.
One user wrote, “#Janfam sees no shade here. She’s showing off her fashion.”
“It’s a shame that people want to pit one artist against another,” Janet replied.
