Jay-Z is preparing to reopen his iconic 40/40 Club, and he’s adding an exciting new twist.

On Friday, Jay-Z, also known as Hov, teamed up with Fanatics founder and CEO Michael Rubin to host a special 40/40 Club pop-up event during Fanatics Fest NYC. The pop-up, which runs until August 18th, attracted a slew of high-profile celebrities, including Tom Brady, Carmelo Anthony, Travis Scott, and Quavo. Attendees got a taste of the 40/40 experience with framed jerseys on display and refreshments inspired by the club’s original menu.

This three-day event also served as a preview of what’s to come when the 40/40 Club reopens, approximately two years after its Manhattan location closed. The original club, which first opened in 2003, quickly became a hotspot, with locations in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, and the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

As for the new club’s location, 40/40 Club Vice President of Operations Sheldon Robinson recently spoke with Us Weekly, revealing that the team has “narrowed it down” and is aiming for a 2025 launch.

“It’s always been the plan to open a new spot,” Robinson said. “Finding the right location that makes sense for the brand is key, and that takes time. We’ve narrowed it down to our final choices and are now in the negotiation phase.”

Robinson added, “Hopefully, by the end of this year, we’ll have a lease signed and can break ground. The goal is to open the club in 2025.”

Robinson also shared that the new venue will deliver a “renewed version” of the original 40/40 Club, offering a unique blend of sports and music.

“It’s everything Jay-Z and his partners envisioned when they first opened the club,” Robinson continued. “They wanted to create a luxurious environment where guests can enjoy excellent service, great food, watch their favorite sports teams, and listen to their favorite artists. It’s all about combining sports and music, and we’re going to stay true to that vision.”
