Davon Eddington of Spring Hill, Tennessee was relaxing in his backyard last week, teasing his brother over the phone about LeBron James and The Lakers, when he was shocked to find authorities with their guns drawn on his front lawn.
According to TMZ, Davon’s brother called him a bandwagon Lakers fan, and that’s when he responded, “I got 99 problems, but a bitch ain’t one.”
Apparently, that choice of words should have been avoided, because Davon’s neighbor allegedly overheard the conversation and called the police, reporting that Davon was heard beating his wife.
According to a police report provided by TMZ, police sped to Davon’s home because the caller said he heard Davon say he had “99 problems and this bitch ain’t one.”
Davon says police arrived with their guns pointed at him before realizing the report was bogus. An officer who had been listening to the conversation about basketball, told his colleagues to lower arms, declaring Davon was “swatted,” the term given to fraudulent police calls.
Davon explained that his fiancée was actually upstairs taking a bath. He said police later apologized to him for the misunderstanding. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thankfully no one was hurt, but it’s safe to say Davon’s neighbor is no fan of his.
