Jeannie Mai is focused on work and her daughter while going through her divorce from Jeezy.
The former commentator joined Sherri Shepherd during Friday’s episode of her daytime show. During the sit-down, Mai was asked the million-dollar question, which was how she was coping with her separation from the Atlanta rapper. According to the “America’s Test Kitchen” host, if “you give God your pain, he’ll give you his power,” and this has seemingly come in the form of her daughter, Monaco.
“Monaco? That is my North Star. And I can definitely tell you that I don’t know if I would handle this the same way without her,” Mai shared, adding, “Because today, I’m able to look at her, and I can say what would I advise you? If you were in my shoes? And it changes everything. So I’m so thankful to be a mom, and I’m thankful to have her.”
Jeezy and Mai have been going through a shocking separation just two years after saying “I do.” Though they’ve been tightlipped about their split, many have speculated that cultural differences may be behind the abrupt breakup. However, sources have told multiple outlets that the filing might’ve blindsided Mai and was even trying to convince him to call it off. Nevertheless, neither has corroborated these stories.
For now, Mai is focused on work and the one-year-old daughter she shares with Jeezy. Hopefully, she can continue to heal.
