Jeezy once had a rare shot at landing a verse on a Beyoncé record until Jay-Z decided otherwise.

During a recent sit-down on “7PM in Brooklyn” with Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero, the Snowman reflected on being in the studio with both Jay and Bey while they were working on what would become “Drunk In Love.”
His confidence soon backfired. Jeezy says not long after laying down his verse, he got a call from Hov.
“He told me, ‘I took you off the song. By the way, I’m on there.’ I was like, ‘I figured that,’” Jeezy reflected.
Jeezy says the opportunity came about after Bey asked, “If [he] had something for this,” referring to her hit track. He wasted no time getting in the booth.
“I’m going in. It sounded crazy. It’s her song, but I’m just tryna go hard,” he laughed.
According to the Atlanta superstar, that original version is still floating around.
“It’s on somebody’s drive. Tell Bey we need to put that out. It’s some vintage,” he added.
Jeezy also recalled another time Jay-Z stepped in behind the scenes to allow a young rapper a moment to shine. When they were prepping the “Seen It All” video, Jay suggested shelving it to give Bobby Shmurda’s viral hit “Hot N***a” the spotlight.
Although his “Drunk In Love” verse never saw the light of day, Jeezy didn’t seem bothered.
It’s one of those behind-the-scenes moments that shows just how calculated and business-minded Hov really is and how even seasoned artists like Jeezy can get replaced when the vision shifts.
