Jennifer Hudson has officially joined the EGOT club after winning a Tony at this year’s Tony Awards.
From American Idol finalist to EGOT status, Hudson now has an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony, making her now part of the EGOT list. She’s now the 17th artist in history to achieve the feat. Hudson, 40, took her Tony on Sunday at the 75th Tony Awards for her role as a producer for n A Strange Look.
Before adding the T to her EGOT, Hudson won two Grammys for Best R&B Album and Best Musical Theater Album, an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for Dreamgirls and a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Interactive Media for a Daytime Program for Baba Yaga.
She’s now the first Black woman to gain EGOT status since Whoopi Goldberg in 2002.
