Jennifer Lopez is the latest celebrity to be hit with a lawsuit for posting a photo of herself on Instagram.
In court documents obtained by The Blast, a photographer named Michael Stewart says he snapped a photo of J.Lo in New York City in the summer and licensed the photo to Daily Mail.
He says the publication ran their story on June 29, and Lopez then posted the image on her stories, without his permission. Stewart says he owned the photograph and registered it with the United States Copyright Office, so Lopez’s use is, therefore, unauthorized.
Now, as a result, Stewart is suing Lopez and her production company, Nuyorican Productions, for $150,000 in damages and all the profits made from the photo.
Lopez joins a long list of celebs, including Khloe Kardashian, Jessica Simpson, Blac Chyna, Odell Beckham Jr., and Gigi Hadid, all of whom have faced similar lawsuits over their own photos.
