Jessie J is keeping it all the way real with fans as she recovers from a recent surgery connected to her cancer battle. In a series of Instagram Stories, the singer got transparent about the highs and lows of her healing process—and didn’t hold back, even when things got a little too real.
The “Price Tag” singer started with a hopeful tone, listing out the “pros” of her recovery so far. She shared that she’s been enjoying more rest, reconnecting with friends, spending time with her mom, and watching “Love Island” guilt-free. Most importantly, she noted that she hopes the cancer is completely gone and that her body is healing well.
But Jessie was quick to clarify: the statement that “cancer has all gone” was not confirmed by doctors yet. “I only had surgery four days ago,” she wrote. “I’ll get my results soon.” She emphasized that her earlier comment was rooted in hope, not a medical fact.
On the flip side, she didn’t sugarcoat the difficult moments either. Jessie broke down the “cons” of her recovery with honesty—and humor. She admitted struggling with not being able to fully care for her baby, Sky, like she used to. The uncertainty about whether all the cancer is gone is weighing on her mentally. And when it comes to physical discomfort, let’s just say—pain, sleepless nights, and blocked bowels have taken center stage.
“Not pooing from the anesthetic and the painkillers… I just wanna pooooooo,” she joked. Jessie also shared that her blood pressure has been too low to take strong medication, so she’s stuck with basic pain relief and a stubborn digestive system.
She asked fans for suggestions to help things get moving—and in true Jessie J fashion, even turned that into a laugh. “I just pooed reading your advice,” she teased. “Joking… I didn’t. But I will be after these suggestions!”
Despite the ups and downs, Jessie J continues to push forward with a positive mindset, choosing to speak what she wants into the universe: healing, health, and peace of mind. Fans are rooting for her, and if anyone can turn recovery into a relatable, heartfelt story—it’s Jessie.
Stay tuned for her next update—hopefully with good news and better bowel movements.
