The hashtag #JimmyFallonIsOverParty was trending this morning after a “Saturday Night Live” clip of Fallon in Blackface resurfaced.

These past weeks, several people, including Doja Cat and Lana Del Rey have been ousted over their racially insensitive posts and comments.

Today, longtime comedian and Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon has been added to that list after a clip of Fallon in Blackface, acting like fellow comedian Chris Rock, reemerged online. The clip aired for the first time in 2000, featuring former SNL star Darrell Hammond.

Rock nor Fallon have responded to the backlash. But Fallon isn’t the only white celeb who has made light of the painful history behind Blackface. Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman and more have all participated in modern-day Blackface. Kimmel once dressed up as NBA star Karl Malone and even mocked stereotypical “African American” speech. Silverman was fired from a film project over a sketch in which she used Blackface in an attempt to prove whether the Black community or Jews faced more discrimination.

The video of Fallon has gained over 900,000 views on Twitter and was tweeted by user @chefboyohdear. But this isn’t the first time Fallon has faced the heat for this sketch. It was also brought up back when Megyn Kelly, former Fox News anchor, openly justified wearing Blackface and said she wore Blackface when she dressed in costume. Kelly ended up being fired, and NBC canceled her show “Megyn Kelly Today,” in the fall of 2018. Kelly has since spoken out against “cancel culture” and political correctness.

Fallon has yet to speak out about the criticism.
