Well, the Jonathan Majors has ended in a way that is certainly not in his favor.
On Monday, the “Creed III” actor was found guilty of one count of misdemeanor assault and one count of misdemeanor harassment. The nine-person jury acquitted him of assault and aggravated harassment. The verdict brings to a close the messy trial, which kicked off weeks ago, stemming from the March 2023 domestic violence incident between Majors and ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
Majors did not take the stand in his own defense. However, Jabbari did, and during her testimony, she claimed she witnessed a message in Majors’ phone from another woman. After confronting him and grabbing the device, Jabbari claims the actor assaulted her. She also claimed that she was often fearful of Majors, who had a short temper. In text messages presented in court from the months before the alleged assault, Majors seemingly tried to convince his ex not to seek medical attention following an assault. Jabbari maintained that she would lie to the doctors but insisted she needed to go to the hospital. In another instance, Majors was heard on a recording telling his ex to be more like Coretta Scott King or Michelle Obama.
Majors has claimed that he was the victim of Jabbari, who attacked him multiple times. Both provided photos of their injuries as evidence. However, the jury ruled that it was Majors who was the aggressor.
He now faces up to a year in jail at his February 6th, 2024 sentencing. Additionally, a judge has renewed a restraining order against Majors, which orders him to stay away from Jabbari.
