When City Girls burst onto the scene in 2017, the Miami duo introduced a refreshing and bold perspective to female hip-hop. Their catalog, which includes hits such as “Act Up,” “P***y Talk,” and “Twerk,” uses raunchy lyrics to celebrate self-confidence and independence while representing the fast life and rich culture of their hometown. After a string of successful projects such as their debut mixtape, “Period,” and studio albums “City On Lock,” “Girl Code,” and their last album, “RAW,” the ladies chose to embark on different paths. While Yung Miami is enjoying the media route with her forthcoming BET reality series and Yams Era, JT is focused on a solo rap career and is starting from ground zero.

In July 2023, JT unveiled her single, “No Bars,” which became a TikTok sensation, being used in millions of clips. She would spend the rest of the year working as a single, and in October 2023, during the press run for “RAW,” JT confirmed that she was working on a solo album. When February 2024 rolled around, she unveiled her second single, “Sideways.” While both records have been well-received, the online chatter continues to plague the rapper. One of the biggest ones is that her music will flop now that she has separated herself from the Cirl Girls brand.

jt got 2 flop songs & going on tour?…

JT is a flop and will remain a flop talking about her is just adding to the algorithm 🤷🏾‍♂️

The hatred became even more profound when JT announced her first solo tour just days ago. The 13-city string of dates begins on March 23rd in Houston, Texas, at The Sekai nightclub. What was supposed to be an exciting announcement was met with a wave of criticism from people who slammed her for playing smaller venues.

i love jt but what songs is she rapping on tour ??? lmfao

Jt will be canceling her tour in a few weeks and she’ll blame it on something, but the real reason will be cause the tickets aren’t gonna sell. Bookmark this and come back when it happens.

However, as JT explained, she is interested in building her career from the ground up. She even changed and added “New Artist” to her Twitter handle. As JT maintains her unapologetic lyricism and dedication to her craft, her solo tour, album, and all other endeavors will absolutely be a testament to her unwavering work ethic. And honestly, all City Girls fans should allow the rapper grace to grow.

They gone be right there. Logged into there other accounts recording fuck these ppl!
LETS GO!!!!! https://t.co/NrX1K8kfgd
