On Monday, MTV kicked off its annual Video Music Award ceremony at the historic New York City venue, Radio City Music Hall. As the industry’s biggest celebrities gathered to celebrate the visual art, Harlem-bred rapper, Juelz Santana, was stuck watching from home, thanks to his pending criminal case.
In court documents obtained by The Blast, Santana recently asked for permission to attend the award show, which is required under the rapper’s $500,000 bond agreement. If you recall, Santana was indicted on two Federal firearm charges, after a gun was found in his bags at Newark Liberty International Airport.
After spending some time behind bars, the rapper was released on bond and ordered to wear an ankle monitor. He was also placed on travel restrictions and ordered to move in with his mother in New Jersey.
Since the award show was in New York though, Santana had to put in a special request to attend. However, despite the court’s recent leniency, a judge denied his request.
