In the wake of Meek Mill’s request for bail pending an appeal on his harsh 2-4 year prison sentence for violating probation, TMZ reports that Judge Genece Brinkley has made a decision in the case.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In docs obtained by the publication, Brinkley said the Philly rapper is a “flight risk” and “a danger to the community, which is why she denied his request for bail. Brinkley also questioned the authenticity of his drug tests, adding that he may have used something to cleanse his system.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Brinkley’s denial comes after Meek’s legal team accused the judge of passing down a harsh sentence out of spite. The legal team said Brinkley was upset with the Philly rapper for not changing management upon her request and refusing to give her a shout-out in a song. The sentencing sparked widespread backlash and prompted the legal team to file an appeal.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, pending the appeal, Meek’s team went around Brinkley to the high court to request an immediate release, however, the court denied. But, in their denial, the court also ordered Brinkley to make a decision about Meek’s bail request. Weeks later, Brinkley passed down her decision.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In turn, Meek’s lawyer says Brinkley’s decision “continues her long pattern of unfair treatment” of the rapper, adding they will continue with their appeal.
