A federal judge has officially closed the defamation and emotional distress lawsuit brought by Megan Pete, professionally known as Megan Thee Stallion, against commentary personality Milagro Elizabeth Cooper. The final judgment, signed on December 2, 2025, confirms the jury’s verdict and orders Cooper to pay $59,000 in damages.
The jury found Cooper liable for intentional infliction of emotional distress and for promoting an altered sexual depiction of the rapper. While the jury also determined that Cooper made statements rising to defamation per se, the court could not enter judgment on that specific claim because Florida law required pre suit notice (cease and desist) to be given to media defendants. The court noted that Cooper qualified as a media defendant and that Megan had not provided the required advance notice, which prevented judgment on that portion of the case. All remaining counts were resolved in Megan’s favor.
The order states that Megan is entitled to the full $59,000 awarded by the jury. The court also retained jurisdiction to handle any future requests for injunctive relief and directed the clerk to close the case entirely.
Judge Altonaga has entered final judgment for Megan Thee Stallion against Milagro, tossing the defamation claim because Milagro was ruled a media defendant and Megan’s lawyers never notified her before suing her.

Within hours of the judgment being entered, Cooper launched a fundraiser on the Christian crowdfunding site GiveSendGo titled Rise of New Media. She set a goal of $100,000 and promoted it on her social platforms. The campaign describes her effort as part of a movement for independent media, emphasizing that she operates without corporate backing and relies on community support.

Cooper describes the initiative as a way to strengthen independent commentary and maintain what she calls freedom from traditional media structures.
With the judgment officially entered and the case closed, the legal dispute between the rapper and the blogger now shifts to enforcement of the monetary award and possible gag order.
