Juicy J sat down with Nas and Miss Info for an episode of The Bridge: 50 Years of Hip Hop ahead of Three 6 Mafia’s VERZUZ against Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, where he detailed the reason the group broke up.

According to Juicy J, drugs were the reason behind their split.

“From heroin to meth to cocaine, all kinds of pills,” he said of their drug use. “A lot of drugs were consumed during the times we were together.

He did acknowledge that they were all on the same page when everyone was sober, but drug use changed things.

He added, “It’s the drugs; I can’t think of nothing else.”

Juicy J then told a story involving a time where he busted into Lord Infamous‘ hotel room.

“I had to bust up in Lord Infamous room before, and I was almost in tears,” the Memphis native said. “I thought the n*gga was dead at first. So I had to go get the keys because he wouldn’t answer the phone. I was banging on his door. So I had to bust up in his room and had to pretty much beat him [using a pillow] to wake him up.”

Three 6 Mafia consisted of Juicy J, DJ Paul, Gangsta Boo, Crunchy Black, and late rappers Lord Infamous and Koopsta Knicca. They are known for hits like “Stay Fly” and “Sippin on Some Syrup.” Juicy J left the group in 2018 but will reunite with DJ Paul this Thursday for the VERZUZ battle.
