Sentencing has been delayed for Alicia Andrews, the woman found guilty of manslaughter in the June 2024 killing of Jacksonville rapper Julio Foolio. The hearing, originally expected to take place on December 8, was abruptly canceled.
Andrews, 21, was convicted on October 31 after a Florida jury found her responsible for her role in Foolio’s death outside a Tampa hotel. The rapper had been celebrating his birthday when he was gunned down in what prosecutors described as a targeted ambush.
Although prosecutors initially charged Andrews with conspiracy to commit murder, the jury rejected that charge and instead found her guilty of manslaughter. Her lawyers argued she was unknowingly caught up in the situation, claiming she thought she was on a regular trip with her boyfriend. She testified, “I heard a lot of shots so I didn’t know what went on — shooting in the air, somebody got shot at, I didn’t know.”
Andrews’ legal team maintains she was manipulated by an abusive partner and unaware of the planned violence. Her attorney argued, “Just because she was there around a group of guys who had bad stuff on their mind doesn’t mean she did.” Additionally, her team is hoping to have Judge Michelle Sisco disqualified from the case.
While Andrews remains in custody, four other co-defendants, Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy, and Rashad Murphy, are expected to face trial in 2026. Prosecutors believe the group conspired to kill Foolio in retaliation tied to ongoing street beefs.
