Amid increased speculation over Jussie Smollett’s alleged racist and homophobic attack in Chicago, the actor’s final few scenes in the last couple episode’s of “Empire” have been nixed.
According to TMZ, “Empire” production sources say Smollett had nine scenes and a musical number in the second to last episode – which is currently in production – but, more than half, in addition to the musical number, have been cut.
Although four scenes remain, production sources tell TMZ, the storyline is no longer focused on his character. In fact, sources say he won’t even be needed on set until Friday, and he won’t be in rehearsal.
According to the publication, since the latest developments in Smollett’s case, “Empire” writers have been working overtime to edit his beloved character out certain scenes.
Although the case, in question, is still under investigation. It is reportedly heading to a Grand Jury to address the possibility of a felony indictment for allegedly filing a false report.
