During a recent sit-down with The Baller Alert Show hosts Ferrari Simmons and BT, comedian Karlous Miller broke down why he believes comedians should never play it too safe on stage.

Miller acknowledged that there are “habitual line steppers” in the comedy game, and to him, that’s not a bad thing.
“That’s the best part about being a comedian: figuring out how to cross the line,” he said. “Why would you play it safe?”
The “85 South Show” star explained that audiences can tell when a comedian is holding back.
“When you watch somebody, you can be like, ‘he ain’t really go all.’ No, you got to do it big, bro. Don’t play it safe,” he insisted.
For Miller, the challenge is finding a way to push boundaries without resorting to cheap shock value.
“That’s where your creativity comes in. How can you creatively cross the line? Because there’s a difference between being creative and being obscene or explicit,” he explained. “You don’t always have to be offensive to cross the line.”
He also pointed out that some of the boldest comics aren’t the most famous. You have to seek them out.
“There are comedians who aren’t afraid, but they not as notable as the ones that you’re getting to watch,” he noted.
