In case you missed it, the rapper sparked widespread conversation after sharing a video of herself cleaning out her nose with money while attending a basketball game. During a Monday chat with Hot 107.9, she explained the moment, noting that Detroit culture embraces showing off wealth, something many refer to as stunting.
“They got a ice cam. No other arena does this. We have a ice cam where you show jewelry. We have people that get on the camera and rip up hundred-dollar bills. In Detroit, our culture is like, we stunt. That’s our thing,” she shared. “I wasn’t doing it to stunt. I literally switched purses and my boo said I had something right there on my nose and all I had in there was some money.”
Kash said that at first, she was simply trying to get rid of the boogers. However, once she realized she was using money, the “Nothin’ New” star decided to turn it into a viral sensation.
“I did it and didn’t record it the first time ‘cause it was genuine. But then I’m like, oh, this kinda fly. Everybody be wiping they tears with f**kin’ money, let me just do this,” she joked.
While fans stood by her, critics slammed the move. Some felt using a $20 bill was distasteful given the current economic climate, while others thought it was simply corny. Nevertheless, Kash says the online chatter didn’t bother her one bit.
