Back in June, Kellen Winslow was convicted of raping a 58-year-old homeless woman in 2018, after a jury found him guilty on four of 12 counts.
Winslow’s legal troubles began back in June 2018 after police arrested him for allegedly kidnapping and raping two women on two different occasions, in March and May. He was then accused of raping a third woman over 15 years ago and exposing himself to two other women over the past year.
In May, Winslow stood before a judge and jury, as his accusers testified to their experience, and after a week-long deliberation, he was found guilty of sexual assault of the 58-year-old Jane Doe No. 3, indecent exposure to Jane Doe No. 3, and lewd conduct regarding Jane Doe No. 5. However, the jury deadlocked on 8 other charges, which prompted a retrial, which is set for September 30th.
But now, just weeks before Winslow is scheduled to stand for a retrial, his wife of 13 years has filed for divorce.
On August 30, according to TMZ, Janelle Winslow filed to end her marriage in San Diego County Superior Court, nearly four months after Winslow was convicted. But now, ahead of Winslow’s retrial, Janelle is pulling the plug.
As part of Winslow’s retrial, the former baller will be tried on charges of kidnapping, two counts of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, sodomy by use of force, rape of an unconscious person, elder abuse and battery against elder. According to CNN, the charges span 16 years, and includes lewd acts against a 77-year-old woman and the alleged 2003 rape of an unconscious teen, as the jury deadlocked over Winslow’s age at the time of the incident.
