Rapper Kendrick Lamar made headlines on Tuesday when he was announced as Super Bowl LIX’s Halftime performer, and now, we’re gearing up for the show of a lifetime.
Lamar has no shortage of phenomenal tracks, though his most recent, “Not Like Us,” likely earned him the gig. The Drake diss is now two times platinum and was crowned the Song of the Summer. Lamar stunned the world when he first performed the track during his Amazon Prime Juneteenth concert. The music video filmed in his hometown of Compton was also the icing on the cake, with Lamar seemingly winning their heated rap beef. “Not Like Us” may also earn a Grammy nod when the categories are announced on November 8th. With the award ceremony taking place on February 2nd, 2025, if Lamar were to win a Grammy for his smash single, the time frame would surely be iconic, given that his Super Bowl Halftime show is slated for February 9th, 2025.
