Kerrion Franklin, son of gospel legend Kirk Franklin, has shared deeply personal allegations about his childhood, bringing his family back into public discussion.
On September 15, the reality star posted a photograph on Instagram showing scars across his back, which he said were the result of years of violent punishment starting in his early school years. He clarified that the marks were not related to sexual activity.
“These scars all over my back are not Sex Stories,” Kerrion wrote. “Breaks my heart all over again when ppl ask cuz iii wish that was the case. Pain is the only feeling that’s familiar for me… being beat black and blue since 1st grade. I walk with war & Betrayal in my posture.”
He went on to allege that his parents “enjoyed expressing rotten Rage in many ways as (punishment/Consequence)…These scars are the only memories iii have of my childhood.”
The post quickly drew reactions from fans, many of whom expressed concern and skepticism. Several pointed out that earlier Instagram posts did not show similar scars, leading some to question whether the images were genuine.
Others suggested that the story may have been influenced by personal struggles. The post reignited discussion of a father-son relationship that has been publicly complicated for years.
This is not the first time Kerrion has made his conflicts with his father public. In 2021, he leaked audio recordings of a heated phone conversation with Kirk. At that time, Kirk denied ever physically harming his son but admitted that the family had gone through serious tension and conflict.
Their relationship has continued to develop publicly, showing moments of both strain and efforts at understanding.
While opinions among fans are divided regarding the authenticity of his scars, the post sheds light on the challenges of growing up with trauma, navigating accountability, and processing personal pain in the public eye.
