Kevin Hart is requesting a temporary restraining order against Tasha K following an interview featuring his former assistant, Miesha Shakes.
The comedian filed a lawsuit against the YouTuber last month following the release of the interview with his former assistant. According to documents acquired by Radar Online, Kevin stressed the significance of his career and reputation in a statement he submitted as part of his legal proceedings.
He claimed that Miesha had fabricated a substantial portion of the information she disclosed, and he also alleged that Tasha K had made an attempt to blackmail him. Kevin mentioned that prior to the video being released on Tasha K’s YouTube channel, an unidentified person contacted him on Tasha’s behalf. Kevin says that the individual demanded $250,000 as a condition for not publishing the video. However, Kevin refused to tolerate extortion and promptly notified law enforcement. Shortly after, Kevin’s attorney sent Tasha a cease and desist letter, but she disregarded it and proceeded to release the interview despite the lawful request. In response to this, he filed a lawsuit against her, alleging defamation and civil extortion.
In the recent filing, Kevin stated that his acting career is at risk because of the reportedly untrue allegations. The declaration further discloses that Hart had employed Miesha from August 2017 to October 2020. As part of her departure arrangement, he had agreed to pay her an annual sum of $30,000 and provide health insurance coverage for three years.
“Working in the entertainment industry, my livelihood depends in large part on my reputation and the public’s perception of me,” he said. “That perception is of particular concern in light of the fact that I am involved in a number of family-oriented projects, such as the Jumanji franchise, Fatherhood, Captain Underpants, the Secret Life of Pets, and others.”
