Kevin Hart has been selected to host the 2025 BET Awards, BET announced Tuesday. The show will air live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 9 at 8 PM ET/PT, as the network celebrates the 25th anniversary of its annual awards ceremony.
Hart, an established figure in comedy and film, has a longstanding relationship with BET. He previously hosted Comic View in 2008, co-created and starred in Real Husbands of Hollywood, and is currently involved with the animated series Lil Kev on BET+.
“I love a celebration,” Hart said in a statement. “It’s a chance to reflect, cherish, and honor moments. I’m honored to host the 25th BET Awards and look forward to a special night with the BET family and viewers.”
BET executives say Hart’s experience and connection to the network made him a strong fit for the event. “Kevin Hart is a powerhouse in the entertainment industry and a longtime member of the BET family,” said Connie Orlando, EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET. “We are proud to welcome him as the host of this milestone celebration.”
Scott Mills, President and CEO of BET, added that Hart’s involvement reflects the network’s focus on honoring both long-standing contributions and current achievements in Black culture.
The BET Awards will again be produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment, with executive producers including Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay, alongside BET’s Connie Orlando and Jamal Noisette.
In addition to the awards ceremony, the BET Experience (BETX) will return to Los Angeles from June 5 to June 8. The multi-day event features live performances, panel discussions, and fan activations leading up to the main show.
