Key Glock carefully dodged a question about whether or not he’d work with any CMG signees.
The messy moment went down on Tuesday, July 11th, when the “Russian Cream” rapper held a Q&A session with his fans on Twitter. While many swarmed his mentions looking to know about everything from new music to how he was mentally, one user took a more potentially turbulent route.
“AyeGlock, can you see yourself working with someone from CMG on any music?” the person asked in the now-deleted tweet.
Glcck replied with a laughing GIF, careful not to give the individual too much of a reaction. Fellow fans swiftly came to his defense, questioning why anyone would ask such a question considering the history between CMG Records and Glock’s mentor and label head, the late Young Dolph.
Before his untimely passing on November 17th, 2021, Dolph and CMG founder, Yo Gotti, traded a barrage of insults on various records in a rap beef that lasted for several years. While Key Glock steered clear of the feud for the most part while under Dolph’s tutelage, he has remained notoriously selective about who he makes music with. Other acts signed to Dolph’s Paper Route Empire imprint have seemingly taken the same approach.
No members of CMG have reacted publicly to the fan question or Glock’s subtle reaction. Hopefully, it remains this way for the sake of keeping things peaceful.
