During a recent appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” Gucci Mane’s partner, Keyshia Ka’oir, shared that she tried to stop him from participating in the highly anticipated Verzuz battle against Jeezy.

She revealed that she even offered a staggering incentive to convince him not to go through with it.

“I said you’re not doing that. I said I will pay you a million dollars not to do this,” Keyshia said. Despite her plea, Gucci remained committed. “I’m going to do the Verzuz,” he responded, determined to step on stage and deliver a performance fans would remember.

Keyshia explained her concerns went beyond the performance itself. She worried about potential consequences due to the history and rivalry between Gucci and Jeezy.

“God forbid GC go say the wrong thing and things pop off. I ain’t got time,” she said, reflecting on her nervousness during the battle.

While Gucci performed, Keyshia watched from home while pregnant, hands sweating and anxious.

“My hands were wet, sweating. I’m nervous. I’m like, ‘Lord Jesus, help me,’” she admitted.

Despite the tension, Gucci Mane later expressed respect for Jeezy’s approach during the battle.

“In hindsight, I respect what he did. At that moment, in the heat of it, I wasn’t thinking, ‘I’m happy he said that.’ I was just like, ‘Man, what is he talking about?’ But looking back, it was smart and deep.”
